What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of exercise which gives the perfect balance of strength and flexibility. It teaches use of deep core muscles to control and stabilise movement. Body awareness, focus and alignment are key elements of the technique.

Body Control Pilates, as practised at the Studio, has been adapted from the ‘classical’ exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, incorporating the latest sports and medical research. The exercises are safe and effective for the average person and the average body.

Pilates is suitable for all, regardless of age or fitness.  It is the chosen exercise regime of many personalities in the worlds of entertainment and sport. Its’ consistent success rate has brought it to the attention of many Medical Practitioners.
